Medianusantaranews.com-President Joko Widodo and Mrs Iriana Joko Widodo attended the Gebyar Bakso Merah Putih Indonesia United event. The event was centered at Deltamas Field, Hegarmukti Village, Cikarang Pusat District, Bekasi Regency, West Java Province on Sunday, March 3, 2019.
Arriving at around 12.35 WIB, the President was greeted by boisterous residents who had packed the field since the morning. Not a few people who shake hands and take pictures with the President.
In his remarks, the President said that he was happy to be able to meet with traders and connoisseurs of meatballs. The Head of State also admitted to intentionally not having breakfast so he could enjoy meatballs with the residents.
“I haven’t eaten from this morning, because I want to eat meatballs with all of you” said the President.
The Head of State then said that he agreed with the statement of the Association of Noodle and Meatball Traders (PAPMISO) who wanted to make meatballs as a typical Indonesian culinary. According to the President, meatballs can be found every day in every alley and housing complex.
“We all want the meatballs to be a typical Indonesian culinary food, typical of the archipelago, agree that we don’t set them as food or typical Indonesian cuisine?” asked the President who then agreed to the audience.
After giving a speech, the President and Mrs. Iriana then enjoyed a bowl of meatballs from one of the carts. The community enjoyed the meatballs provided by PAPMISO.
To note, this activity also broke the record of the Indonesian World Record Museum (MURI) eating the most meatballs in Indonesia.
Also present accompanied the President and Mrs. Iriana in this event, among others, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung and Deputy Governor of West Java Uu Ruzhanul Ulum.(MNN)
